Divorce May Have Prompted Murder

The long-awaited trial of Aaron LaRose, 34, has finally begun and is expected to continue well into next month.
Back on June 24, 2009, LaRose was scheduled to have a divorce hearing with his estranged wife, Jill LaRose, at the St. Charles County Court. After the meeting with St. Charles County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Philip Groenweghe, the couple left the court to go their own ways. The last contact that Jill had was with her sister at 1:24 p.m. when the phone call was cut short.
Her body was discovered a few hours later in a ditch of Dalbow Road in the northern area of the county with three stab wounds and choke marks around her neck.
Jury selection has already begun and is expected to end shortly, allowing Circuit Judge Nancy Schneider to hear the case. She is anticipating a short trial although anything could happen. LaRose has already entered a plea of not guilty to the court.
