A child custody hearing went awry last weekend when the father involved lost his temper. His actions caused several sheriffs' deputies and police officers to rush in and detain him before his behavior escalated. The dad, B.F., was at a child custody hearing last week in Santa Cruz, California. Although he appeared calm during the hearing, things went terribly wrong shortly after. He called the foster mother for his son and told her that he had a gun hidden outside the courthouse which he intended to use to shoot someone. The police were alerted and streets surrounding the courthouse were shut down.
While it is unknown whether police did find the gun, they did locate the suspect trying to leave town on a bus. He was arrested and is currently being evaluated by a mental health professional.
